Rumors that Pavement would hook up with the ATP organization in the wake of their recent reunion have now come true. The band will curate an ATP festival in May 2010 in the UK, which will take place at the regular venue of Butlins in Minehead. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday (Oct. 9) and are sure to sell out fast.
This incarnation of ATP will take place on May 14-16 and will follow another festival, which will be staged between May 7-9. The curator for that ATP is as-yet unknown, but is expected to be announced next week. A special “early bird” deal for Pavement ATP tickets will be available, more details here.
Whether Pavement will repeat the trick on this side of the Atlantic remains open to speculation. But now the band members are working with ATP, don’t be surprised if they have some involvement with the festival’s New York incarnation, assuming it comes back in 2010. No bands have yet been announced for the Pavement ATP, but expect a lineup shortly.
More details are available on the official ATP website.
