
Fifty years ago, Decca Records famously turned down the Beatles, booting the band out of their offices and saying they had no future in show business. Now the labels is trying to make a mends for that mistake: The label has signed Paul McCartney to a solo deal, agreeing to release the score of Ocean's King, his first ballet that premieres in New York on Sept. 22. It's not like signing a pre-fame Beatles, but they've at least got McCartney on the roster. [RS]
