Amidst telling Billboard how happy she is to be in the same Rock Hall induction class as long-time fan and supporter Michael Stipe, Patti Smith also says she's working on a covers album. She'll be handling tracks from Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane and "some people you'd be very surprised at," she said. Intriguing. Smith is being aided on the album by Flea, Tom Verlaine and the Black Crowes' Richard Robinson. The album is expected to be released in late March or early April.
