Patrick Wolf Apologizes For Outburst in Germany

Patrick Wolf just can’t make his mind up. His diva-like tantrum on stage at the C/O Pop Festival in Germany caused plenty of eyeball-rolling and stifled giggles, but his comments in the aftermath of the incident suggested he wasn’t likely to apologize for this latest in a long line of childish outbursts.

Now Wolf has flip-flopped, issuing an apology on his MySpace blog that begins: “I am very sorry that I became too much wolf on stage in C/O pop.” The singer claims his work is “very tribal at the moment,” and that it had “been a long day.” Not good ingredients for the notoriously volatile Wolf.

He also claims that his anger and equipment throwing wasn’t aimed at anyone specific, and discounts accusations of misogyny due to his use of the words “bitch” and “motherfucker.” “I hope you can forgive me for causing any damage due to excess negative personal emotion,” he writes.
