Patrick Watson is David, Canadian indie big names are Goliaths
Who the hell is Patrick Watson, you might be asking? He's the Canadian musician whose most recent album, Close to Paradise, just won this year's Polaris Music Prize. And you most definitely know many of the other Canuck artists Watson beat out: Arcade Fire, Feist, the Dears, Junior Boys, Chad VanGaalen, Julie Doiron, and the Besnard Lakes, among others. That's quite an upset, no? Bet you'll remember Patrick Watson' name from now on.

this is awesome. I've been diggin on this guy since' he sang on Cinematic Orchestra's record this year. Amazing voice, awesome that hes finally getting recognition. Close to Paradise is fantastic
