Paste Receives $250,000 in Donations from its Readers, Saves Magazine

Paste Magazine fans can rejoice, because unlike the music mag masses, it won't be folding quite yet. Paste, which is headquartered in Atlanta, was suffering from a severe advertising shortage, making their days look numbered. So, Paste put out the call for help: not to Obama, and not to their parents, but instead to their readers. The magazine began campaigning last month to "Save Paste," and in the process managed to raise over $250,000 in donations. Editor-in-chief Josh Jackson said that the money has indeed saved Paste Magazine from going under. Just as Paste is known for including compilation CDs in the pages of every magazine, they are rewarding donors with exclusive tracks from The Decemberists, Josh Rouse, Matthew Sweet and the Indigo Girls.
