Parts & Labor's Fifth LP, 'Constant Future,' Due Out March 8, 2011

The trio of Parts & Labor used its previous album, 2008's Receivers, a sort of one-time deal that found the band working with fan-curated samples and within a more refined, verse-chorus-verse song structure. But for the band's fifth album together, the decision was made to return to the sound that made Parts & Labor resonate so well with critics and listeners alike.

The resulting effort, Constant Future, finds the Brooklyn group again working within noisy sound scapes and huge, catchy hooks. In other words, they're still embracing the noise-pop tag. The album was co-produced and mixed by Dave Fridmann, known for his work with Mogwai, MGMT, and the Flaming Lips. And its songs, which stem from more than 40 demos, were apparently recorded in a former boxing ring in Milwaukee.

Constant Future is due out March 8, 2011 on Jagjaguwar.
