Brooklyn noise-melodists Parts and Labor are set to release their new album, Receivers, on Oct. 21 in the U.S. and Nov. 3 in the U.K. Two new band members, drummer Joe Wong and guitarist Sarah Lipstate, will be adding their touch to the electronic squall. Even more interestingly, so will everyone else. The band had fans contribute samples and found sounds to their website this past spring, and they have included everyone of these contributions on the album. Judging by the song "Nowheres Nigh," the band continue their quest to open ears with electro-noise-pop catchiness, but the addition of Lipstate's guitar (awesome solo here), the somewhat smoothed over electronics, and the epic/apocalyptic lyrical scope have them moving out of the basement and into rock 'n' roll outer space.
