K-pop's never ending quest to break into the U.S. market just got serious. Korean singer and balladeer Kim Jang-hoon has been reported to be making a new music video with special guest Paris Hilton. A representative from the artist's agency stated:
"We were thinking of Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, and Paris Hilton as possible leading ladies for the new music video."
He then continues:
"We conducted a survey in Korea to see who was most widely recognized and realized that Paris was the one."
On top of that, the music video will be shot in 2D and 3D giving us an even more eye popping focus on Hilton. The agency has already spoken to "Hollywood’s best 3D production team" and will begin shooting August 23, 2012 in Los Angeles.
The U.S. has only received a taste of how popular K-pop can be. 2NE1, BoA, and The Wonder Girls have all performed on U.S. soil. Girls Generation has performed on live television through the David Letterman show and 'Live With Kelly'. And of course PSY's "Gangnam Style" has become a world wide phenomenon.
But unbeknownst to most, K-pop has also infiltrated numerous other markets in the United Kingdom, France, South America and of course all over Asia.
