Michael Jackson may have been a man of eccentric taste, but did he really name his daughter after Paris Hilton? The socialite is claiming that she had a special friendship with the King of Pop when she was growing up, due to her mother becoming “best friends” with Jackson when they were at school together.
"I grew up knowing Michael very well and when he had his daughter, he always loved the name Paris and grew up being an uncle to me," Hilton said. "So he asked my mum if it was okay, and of course she said yes, and I think she's such a beautiful little girl and I'm proud we have the same name."
It’s unlikely that Hilton is such a rampant anglophile that she used the word “mum,” but this speculation comes from British sources, hence the translation. This naturally causes speculation about the naming of Jackson’s other kids: surely Prince Michael wasn’t named after one of Jackson’s biggest rivals? And where does the nickname “Blanket” come from? A publicity-hungry celebrity may be waiting around the corner with the answer to all these questions.

Michael had grandfathers named Prince. And I think Paris was named as such because of the place she was conceived at.
