Panic! At The Disco: "Emo is bullshit!"
Via:
NME Breaking news:
Panic! At the Disco aren't emo. They don't even like that shit. In an interview with NME, frontman Brendon Urie had the following to say about the band being labeled Emo:
"It's ignorant! The stereotype is guys that are weak and have failing relationships write about how sad they are. If you listen to our songs, not one of them has that tone." Urie then adds "Emo is bullshit! If people want to take it for the literal sense of the word, yes we're an emotional band, we put a lot of thought into what we do. People always try to stereotype us, but we don't fit the emo stereotype."
Now, I could take the easy way out and just tell them to look in a god-damned mirror, but instead, let me present evidence A, "Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off." After considering the lyrics,
" I've got more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, a better fuck/ Than any boy you'll ever meet, sweetie you had me" I'm forced to conclude that Urie is half-right. You aren't so much Emo, as some vile Emo/Cock Rock hybrid, since you still whine about girls that wronged you, but simultaneously still think you're the shit. Bravo!
