Track Review: Panda Bear "Carrots"

Paw Tracks will be releasing 1000 copies of a vinyl-only Panda Bear/Excepter split early next year, and we have here an excerpt of Panda Bear's cut "Carrots" for your streaming pleasure. So why only an excerpt? Two reasons really. One being that the full track is thirteen minutes long, the other being we like the people at Paw Tracks and didn't want to make them mad by streaming half of the record.
"Carrots" is one of the tracks that's set to appear on Panda Bear's forhtcoming solo album. Together with "Bro's" which you can stream off the Fat Cat website it's one of the albums I'm most looking forward to next year.
"Carrots" is a huge departure from Panda Bear's last solo effort "Young Prayer," full of programmed beats and multi-layered harmonies. What begins as a blissed-out pop song eventually segues into something altogether different; a staticky oldies vibe takes over so you feel like you're travelling back in time through a transistor radio. You'll have to take my word on that for now though.
