Amazon already told us that the first single from Panda Bear’s Tomboy would be its title track, but now official confirmation has arrived. The single will only be available on vinyl, and is the first in a series of 7-inch releases that will contain songs from the album. “Tomboy” will be backed by a song named “Slow Motion.”
Noah Lennox will promote the album with a short burst of live dates, some of which have already been announced, but have now been expanded to include a New York City show on Governor’s Island on Sept. 11. With the New York skyline visible from the island, this might be one of the most unusual ways to commemorate 9/11.
Tickets for the New York show will be $25 apiece, and can be ordered via this link. Lennox’s full set of shows to promote Tomboy now look like this:
07.17 Chicago, IL: Pitchfork Music Festival
08.13 Oslo, Norway: Oya Festival
08.14 Gothenburg, Sweden: Way Out West Festival
09.06 San Francisco, CA: Fox
09.08 Portland, OR: Crystal Ballroom
09.10 Raleigh, NC: Hopscotch Music Festival
09.11 New York, NY: Governor's Island
When is the new single due?
I believe it's July 13.
I can't wait that long. This thing needs to leak
