We were getting worried after not hearing any media announcements from Diddy in, oh, at least fifty-two hours, so a collective sigh of relief was breathed over word of the Didster's latest effort towards self-aggrandizement: a film based on Cheo Hodari Coker's 2004 book, Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of The Notorious B.I.G.Fox Searchlight is making the film and directing is George Tillman Jr., producer of the comedy Barbershop and the roller-skating drama Roll Bounce. Diddy will share production duties with Biggie's mother, Voletta Wallace. Other than the ostensibly cred-boosting producers, there's no details on what will distinguish this movie from the dozens of others that have cashed in on -- ahem -- documented the fallen rapper's legacy, films that include the disposable Notorious B.I.G.: Legacy, the indulgent Notorious B.I.G.: Bigger Than Life and the cheekily ribald Notorious B.I.G.: The Legend Lives On and its unfortunate sequel, Notorious B.I.G. 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold.
