Whoa. It's being reported by HipHopDX that OutKast is working on a group deal with Epic Records. This news comes with the announcement that their former label boss at LaFace/Jive, Antonio "L.A." Reid, has moved to a leadership position at Epic. He's apparently trying to both clean up the label's shitty image and bring over some longtime members of his previous roster, including, of course, OutKast. Oh, and Ciara, too.
If nothing else, this gives some weight to the rumors of a new OutKast album that began swirling again this summer. I mean, come on guys, it's been five long-as-hell years since Idlewild. This signing should also mean that Big Boi can secure an Andre 3000 guest verse on his next solo album, Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader. Fans will remember that Jive wouldn't allow Three Stacks to appear on Big Boi's solo debut, Sir Lucious Left Foot.
