As if the members of the Academy didn’t have enough to worry about, they've just gone and riled up some Radiohead fans. The nominees for the 80th Annual Academy Awards were announced this morning, and though There Will Be Blood copped nods in a whopping eight categories, the film's universally acclaimed score by Jonny Greenwood was not among the honored. OK Computer.
L.A.’s The Envelope is reporting a technical disqualification on the grounds that “the majority of the music was not composed specifically for the film” (damn mind readers). But come on: The film lacks dialogue for fifteen minutes! Couldn’t you bend the rules a little bit?
