Since their 2006 reformation and reunion concert album, legendary Brazilian psych-rockers Os Mutantes have apparently decide to give it another go as a band. Os Mutantes have announced that they've signed to Anti-, and plan to release their first album in 35 years, Haih, which is due out on September 8.
Os Mutantes rose to semi-obscurity in the late-60s and early 70s when they welded pyschedelia with native Brazilian music into a new style called tropicalia. They broke up in the 70s amid in-fighting and LSD abuse, and were coaxed out of retirement in 2006. On Haih, they'll be joined by other tropicalia experts like Tome Ze and Jorge Ben.
I miss Rita....
