Ornette Coleman collapses onstage at Bonnaroo
Legendary free jazz saxophonist Ornette Coleman collapsed onstage during a performance at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN yesterday. The 77-year-old musician apparently suffered from a mild heat stroke, no doubt compounded by the fact that he was blowing his ass off at the time. Coleman was immediately brought to a Bonaroo medical tent, where medical aids administered fluids intravenously. He is currently resting at Coffey County Hospital, and appears to be in fine shape. Cards and teddybears are appreciated.

man, i was front row center for this - it was disturbing as hell - 45 minutes into the set he just collapsed and started twitching. He was for damn sure blowing his ass off though, and those were 45 of the best minutes of music i've ever seen.The only thing he said was "This tune is called 'Follow the Sound,' but I want you to follow the idear" - yup, thats Mr. Coleman
