Original Neutral Milk Hotel 'In The Aeroplane Over The Sea' Postcard Found

It appears that a piece of Neutral Milk Hotel folklore has been found in an antique shop in New Jersey. As Spin reports, members of 4 Chan's /mu/ message board located what looks to be the original postcard that inspired the artwork for the band's seminal indie rock album, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. The postcard was actually altered by artist Chris Bilheimer, who, as you can see, changed the girl's head to a potato or drum (no one's really sure which) and added a few minor details.
