Jane’s Addiction may have written the alternative rock rulebook, but there’s one thing they’re not good at: splitting up. Perry Farrell and the boys have reunited for the third time since their initial split in 1991, ostensibly getting back together to hammer out a few Jane’s classics at last night’s inaugural U.S. version of the NME Awards. But this time there was one major difference—the presence of original bassist Eric Avery, who joined the lineup for the first time since ’91.
The awards ceremony took place at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles and was capped by a four-song set from the band that included “Stop” from Ritual de lo Habitual and three Nothing’s Shocking classics: “Jane Says,” “Ocean Size,” and “Mountain Song.” The band also picked up a Godlike Genius award for their services to the industry.
This brief YouTube clip finds the four band members talking about their reasons for reuniting, reflecting on their career, and fondly recalling their “intimacy” with certain female members of the Los Angeles music scene.

b) i saw perry farrell in our cafeteria a couple of years ago. he wore a white suit and let his baby eat things off the floor. he caught me staring in horror and just shrugged. the wife was too busy hating her life and being slutty to care.
