Currently experiencing a nine-album (?!?!) winning streak, including this year's minor masterpiece Watershed, Swedish progressive metal band Opeth can do no wrong. And everyone's joining in the victory parade, including labels that Opeth left behind long ago. Venerable metal label Peaceville Records, which hasn't had its name on a proper Opeth album since Still Life (1999), is all set to release The Roundhouse Tapes live DVD on November 11th.
As with the two-disc CD version released last year, The Roundhouse Tapes DVD captures a live gig recorded in November, 2006 at The Camden Roundhouse in England. You'll find the standard DVD accoutrements -- soundcheck footage, fan footage, a backstage interview -- but the meat of the package is the perfectly-recorded, 90-minute live set, shot in the middle of Opeth's 18-month tour behind Ghost Reveries (2005), which found the band performing music from each of its albums in chronological order.
Peaceville has launched a Roundhouse Tapes mini-site to whet our prog-metal appetites. You can pre-order a limited edition version of the DVD from the site.

Opeth is better than your favorite band. No contest.
