Funniest. Onion article. Ever ... Well, OK, it doesn't beat No One Sets Out to Be A Smooth Jazz Musician" or "Weird Al Honors Parents' Memory With 'Tears In Heaven' Parody" (so very wrong), but it's pretty close. This skewering of Pitchfork (and, let's face it, all of us pretentious indie crits who often appear to not really enjoy anything) hits pretty much all the nails, especially the dude who "admitted that he just looked at the rating rather than reading the whole review." Only the Onion can smack all of us out of our little "elite beau monde." Love that they faux-quote David Fricke, the Gene Shalit of rock criticism, expressing his love for music, and Dave Maher's followup review of the review.
Pitchfork Gives Music 6.8 [The Onion]

I read PFM but that article did 'stick' it to them. The Onion is, has been, and will always be truer than any real newspaper on earth.
