Brooklyn based musician Daniel Lopatin has been responsible for producing two of the most impressive releases in the electronic music world this year—namely, the album Returnal under his Oneohtrox Point Never guise, and the EP by Games titled That We Can Play. Here, Lopatin takes the folks from the Vice.tv show Electric Independence into his home studio, where he demonstrates a real affinity for his instruments, in particular a Juno-60 that he has nicknamed “Judy.” Lopatin even talks about how Judy has been acting up, saying he has messed around with other Juno synths, and that he is “a little uncomfortable” with the idea that he will have to replace her one day. This is clearly a man who has a very special relationship with his equipment.
