Oneida turns ten, celebrates

Next month will mark ten years since New York City noise rock trio Oneida unleashed their brand of sonic fury on the world. What has the band done in their decade of existence? How about release eight increasingly awesome albums, tour like crazy, help set up two recording studios, and help establish Jagjaguwar label-offshoot Brah? Pretty impressive. To celebrate the milestone, Oneida will headline a bash going down September 1 at the PS1 Contemporary Art Center. Joining the band will be like-minded racket-makers Ex-Models, Dirty Faces, and Sightings. The appearance is Oneida's only scheduled U.S. live date for the rest of 2007 besides a September 22 gig at New York's Knitting Factory. Irish fans of the band can catch them at three tour appearances in that country in October, and Oneida will play the All Tomorrow's Parties in Minehead, England in December.
