Old People Not Fond of Animal Collective (or Young Jeezy) (Video)

There is a web show called Breakfast at Sulimay's that has three elderly people review current songs. On the most recent episode, they oldies reviewed Young Jeezy's "Black Dreams," and pretty predictably didn't like it (though the woman kinda liked it). They also reviewed Animal Collective's "My Girls," which they disliked more vehemently--they don't like the round vocals, the lyrics (the woman says they're like "Rocket Man") the repeated melodic motifs, or basically anything about it. It's a pretty funny clip, especially how the dude on the right promote the Girl Scouts before the song plays, and then says that they won't make it far out of Baltimore. [Gorilla vs. Bear

I'd be curious to hear what they actually liked. I think that might be far more hilarious.

Gee, what an arch, cutting-edge comedic device. Let's find some old folks who have no context for the bands we like and film them not getting the music. Old people, what a riot. You think your average teenage mallrat doofus would fare any better? Probably not, but teenagers aren't as much fun to laugh at. Y'know, Robert Christgau is probably only a few years behind these guys...

This might be the greatest thing ever. The lady's face at the start of "My Girls" is priceless.

You know, I personally think that filming mallrat teenagers listening to animal collective and hating it would be just as funny.

I loved the lady's reaction to Young Jeezy. That was priceless.
