Okkervil River's Will Sheff Writes A Grammy Diary For Billboard

Lost amongst the hubbub surrounding Arcade Fire's dramatic Grammy win for Album of the Year was Okkervil River frontman Will Sheff and his Grammy nomination for Best Album Notes.

A self-proclaimed "big fan of glitz, pageantry, and general excess," Sheff flew out to the awards ceremony at the Staples Center last weekend, and wrote down his experiences for Billboard. The main theme? Tons of people yelling, "Who the hell is that?" whenever an underdog nominee took home an award or whenever Sheff himself appeared on the prestigious Grammy red carpet.

No, Sheff didn't win a Grammy for penning the liner notes of Roky Erickson's 2010 album True Love Cast Out All Evil. But, his experience is worth checking out, especially when he says, "It was fun to watch the losers win for a change." Indeed, it was. Click the link below to read his diary.
