New Okkervil River album out in September

Just when it seemed you were ready to finally file away Okkervil River’s The Stage Names and move onto a new band, there comes news that the band will drop a new album on September 9, titled The Stand Ins, on Jagjaguwar.

The album is apparently a sequel to Stage Names, as this title refers to people who are used by directors to stand in for major stars for purposes of lighting and getting the shots lined up. And it helps that Will Sheff, Okkervil’s lead singer, told  Pitchfork that Stage Names was originally two parts last August.
