In preparation for the release of their seventh album, Austin-based indie stalwarts Okkervil River are hitting the road with Titus Andronicus to provide audiences with the maximum amount of beards and literary songs about drinking. Titus Andronicus will start things off with a few weeks with the Pogues and then some time on their own and with Bright Eyes before meeting up with Will Sheff and his crew in May. They'll be touring throughout the spring, and will also be joined by Future Islands, Julianna Barwick and NewVillager at various points along the way. At the rate of touring they're doing, I have no idea how Titus Andronicus ever plan to record a new album.

Okkervil River's I Am Very Far is due out May 10 on Jagjaguwar. Titus Andronicus's The Monitorhas been out for nearly a year, but we liked it enough to call it the ninth best of 2010.
