OG Ron C Screws And Chops Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’

It was only a matter of time before OG Ron C got his hands on the most talked-about album of the summer. Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange, after a dose of OG Ron C’s signature chopped and screwed production, ends up as Channel Purple, a cough syrup dreamscape/nightmare — though the more soulful tracks turn into some serious Barry White über-slow jams. If you’re going to listen to anything on Channel Purple, make it Ron C’s version of “Pyramids,” which takes Ocean’s extended meditation on a Cleopatra-like woman and extends it some more.
