Axl Rose might be getting to the ring with the big boys, including Kanye West, by releasing Chinese Democracy this week, but he's put a little something extra into his gloves to ensure the outcome of the fight. While the other contenders this week are releasing their albums on Monday and  Tuesday, the new Guns N' Roses set will be available Sunday. Axl and company are of course hoping that the extra day will slam the door on Kanye, Ludacris, or The Killers getting the top spot. Though a debut at the top of the charts seems like a foregone conclusion, there is a slight chance that Chinese Democracy might actually be undone by its own marketability. By cashing in for the Best Buy exclusive, Axl, extra day or not, drastically limited the chances consumers will have to buy his album. It's not as if a bunch of people will be heading to Target to get Chinese Democracy and head out with Kanye instead, but this week is like the Super Bowl. Even if a rout is all but assured, the experience is much better when it looks like it could be competitive. [MTV]
