The video for "Kill Tone", the latest release from Odd Nosdam is just what you're looking for in any Anticon atmospheric trip- utter confusion. Confusion that stupifies you into hypnosis until your subconscious opens up like a lotus, and you start applying words like "lotus" to your subconscious.
A plastic baby is kicked off a train headed toward the Island of Misfit Toys for being too mediocre and unsheathed. He finds himself lost in a tundra of whitenoise with babbling harps, chimes, play things, soft and too precious at first, but then slowly distorted in the distance by some electrical fire that he got off the train just in time to miss- oh well. The video progresses through twilight drones and ethereal echoes which sparkle and shake the baby doll through his journey of self-actualization, with help from some sparrows. The track electronically boleros as he ingests whatever twigs and eggs he can find in this barren environment to nurture him and help him pick up enough speed to outrun it. But the nutrients bubble up inside of the child, a pregnant rhythm, until it sprouts black angel wings and takes him up into the skating sky, free at last- a soaring electronic hum within the eternal symphony.
