You’re (partially) out of luck if you bought tickets solely to see Odd Future perform at the Big Day Out event in Auckland, New Zealand on Jan. 20, 2012. The Auckland City Council, which owns the venue where the event is being held, ordered the West Coast rap collective off the bill after determining that their lyrics are offensive. In particular, the Council took exception to what they viewed as homophobic and misogynistic content, according to the New Zealand Herald.
The good news for OFWGKTA fans down under is that the folks behind Big Day Out are working to schedule a seperate headlining show for the group, NME reports. Also, they are still confirmed to perform during all of the Australian Big Day Out events. [Pitchfork]
