Octopus Project have new album, extensive tour

October 9 is the slated release date for the new album from psych-rock collective the Octopus Project. It's called Hello, Avalanche, and will come via Peek-a-Boo Records. It's the follow-up to the Octopus Project's collaboration with Black Moth Super Rainbow from last year, The House of Apples and Eyeballs. Hello was co-produced by Ryan Hadlock, who has also worked with Blonde Redhead and the Gossip, and mixed by Erik Wofford, who has worked with Explosions in the Sky and Voxtrot. Members of the Dead Science, Nick and the Six Sick Sticks, and Cue guest on the album.
Next month, The Octopus Project embark on a massive tour. I know I probably use that term more than I should, but in this instance it fits. Seriously, check it out after the jump. You can turn it into a drinking game with your friends: take a shot for every time the band is playing Cleveland's Grog Shop or Baltimore's Ottobar. As previously reported, some of the dates will find the band opening for Aesop Rock.
