Another year, another round of spats between the brothers Gallagher as Liam is blabbing to the trades that Noel stole songs left on the cutting room floor during the final Oasis sessions for use on his upcoming solo album (didn't Noel write most of Oasis's music anyways?).
In his usual eloquent way, Liam Gallagher tells Uncut, "I've heard his fucking new record 'cos I fucking sung on half of it. When I was in America for Dig Out Your Soul he swiped some (tracks) off it because he obviously knew he wanted to do a solo album. So he can talk all the bullshit about, 'Oh, I was intimidated,' and all that. Fucking nonsense. Behave. He knows. The people know. And I know. So no, it's not better and it won't get any fucking better."
It was fun reveling in the endless, seemingly playful tiffs between the siblings, but in 2009, things got a bit more serious as Oasis disbanded following an actual brawl between Liam and Noel backstage at a gig in Paris. But at least the latter Gallagher still has a fan in Creation Records co-founder Alan McGee, who raves to the BBC that the material on Noel's solo outing is "as good as anything [Oasis did]... the reason that guy is quiet is he knows what he's got up his sleeve."
