Though an N.W.A. documentary narrated by Chris Rock (who of course parodied the band in CB4) already aired on VH1 a couple of years back, "the world's most dangerous group" might finally be getting the big-screen treatment it deserves.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrea Berloff, who wrote Oliver Stone's World Trade Center, has signed on to pen the story of Dre, Cube, Eazy, Yella and Ren in the aptly titled Straight Outta Compton. Though it might seem like an unlikely pairing having a white woman write the N.W.A. adaptation, THR says Berloff has a knack for tackling true-life tales. While no release date has been set, Straight Outta Compton has studio backing from New Line and is being produced by Ice Cube, his business partner Matt Alvarez and Eazy-E's widow, Tomika Woods.
