Nouvelle Vague play NYC in support of 'Bande A Part'

Such dark days are these that mark the start of September and the close of summer. To worsen matters, Prefix Gatekeeper Dave Park looms over each word I type, his bony and decrepit rigid-clawed fingers pointing at the screen and demanding more text. I just told Dave about my recent interview with Marc Collin of Nouvelle Vague. Bande A Part, Nouvelle Vague'''s new subdued Caribbean-tinged reinterpretations of punk and post-punk cuts, brims with beachside beer-cooler spirit.
''"I tried to do something good with a lot of different ideas,''" says Collin of Bande A Part. ''"This is why I think it can be interesting for me. It'''s that Nouvelle Vague is not only a concept, like terms, (such as) new wave or reggae. It'''s different. It'''s covers in a very imaginative and creative way.''" Bande A Part makes for a great farewell to summer, with moments cozy enough to warm even media tyrant Dave Park'''s blackened, icy heart.
Nouvelle Vague will play Webster Hall on September 19. Keep up on hot stuff like this at Prefix Events.
