It seemed like the movie was gestating so long that it would never see the light of day, but apparently the Notorious B.I.G. biopic Notorious is finished and in the editing process, is slated for a January release date, and the first teaser trailer for the film has just been released.

Jamal Woolard, the man given the task of playing Biggie, looks like a ringer for B.I.G., and from the brief footage here, is able to pull of the deceased rapper’s stage moves and mannerisms pretty well.

Notorious is due out on January 16, 2009. [Via Nahright]
