Noel Gallagher's Toronto Attacker Appears in Court

It’s been over a year since Noel Gallagher was attacked onstage in Toronto, but the case against the perpetrator has finally gone to court. David Sullivan, who dashed onto the stage and tackled Gallagher, admitted to causing bodily harm when he appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday (Nov. 20).

"Sullivan managed to make his way up to the main stage area, run past the electrical cords set up along the stage, past the drumkit and lunge toward Noel Gallagher, shoving him violently from behind with great force," said Crown attorney Ruth Neilson. He was then held backstage, where he allegedly struggled and screamed after being arrested.

The attacker apparently aimed to bring down Liam and Noel Gallagher during his burst onstage, but the swift action of a security guard prevented him from reaching the Oasis singer. Sentencing for Sullivan, who claims to have been intoxicated during the attack, won’t be announced until Feb. 5, 2010.
