The days when acres of column inches in the U.K. music press could be filled with the Blur vs. Oasis feud are long over. And, according to Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, he has also buried his differences with his biggest rivals. Gallagher has left a message on the official Oasis website, hoping to finally end the conflict with Damon Albarn’s band.
The Oasis songwriter was questioned about the rivalry on national TV in the U.K., prompting him to respond in more detail on the web. “He's a naughty boy, Jonathan,” he says, in reference to U.K. talk show host Jonathan Ross, who had quizzed Gallagher about Britpop. “He was determined to try and get me to have a pop at the Blur re-union. Not this time.”
“Those days are long gone,” Gallagher wrote. “Although it was fun at the time I'd like to think we've all grown up a little bit since then. He has, and it was funny though.” Both Blur and Oasis have been playing huge stadium shows in the U.K. in the last few weeks, with Gallagher’s band playing a concert at the Eden Project last night (July 15).
