41-year-old pop punk all-star Tony Sly passed away earlier this afternoon. The bay area singer/songwriter/guitarist was best known as the frontman of No Use for a Name and, in more recent years, as a solo artist. No cause of death or other details of Sly’s death have been announced yet.
Fat Wreck Chords — which put out the vast majority of Sly and No Use for a Name’s discographies — posted the following statement from founder Fat Mike: “One of my dearest friends and favorite song writers has gone way too soon. Tony, you will be greatly missed.” [P4K]
