This has been a year of upheaval for No Depression, but when life gives you lemons, most times it's advisable to throw a party with the likes of Gillian Welch and Patterson Hood. The ex-magazine has announced plans for their first-ever festival, to be held Saturday, July 11 at Marymoor Park in Redmond, Washington. The lineup includes the aformentioned Welch and Hood (playing with a band called the Screwtopians) as wel as Iron & Wine, Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter, Justin Townes Earle, and Jessica Mayfield. Tickets for the festival run a very affordable $45 and will be available via Ticketmaster on May 15. As usual, some fees will apply. [No Depression]
