No Age Expands To A Three-Piece For Live Shows

Anyone who has heard the new album by No Age, titled Everything In Between, will be acutely aware that is bears a full band sound that may be difficult to replicate live. Fortunately, Dean Spunt and Randy Randall aren’t going to attempt to do everything themselves, instead choosing to enlist a third member named William Kai Strangeland-Menchaca.

"Most of the songs on the new record are impossible to play with just us two," Spunt said in an interview with Spinner. "We're not circus bears. I want to make stuff sound good, and it got almost to the point where I was trying to impress myself, like, 'Look what I can do!'"

"It's made us more confident," Spunt continues. "Before, we pulled off the songs in a way that they fell short of the way they needed to sound. There was always a third element to us, which was the noise kind of sample element, and we used to do that ourselves. Now it lives as its own piece, and it fills up the sound more." Everything In Between is set for release on Sub Pop on Sept. 28.
