Nirvana track whored out to video game soundtrack

Via: Pitchfork
I'''m pretty sure Courtney Love doesn'''t quite understand the concept of ''"tasteful.''" That or, to put it mildly, she'''s a lying, money-grubbing jezebel. I'''ll let you make up your own minds about that one. After promising to ''"retain the spirit of Nirvana''" when she sold 25% of her share of Nirvana'''s publishing catalog, ''"Breed''" has gone and turned up on the soundtrack to the Major League Baseball 2K7 video game. Not only that, but the song will also appear in commercials for the game, the first time a Nirvana song has appeared in an advertisement.
It never ceases to amaze me just how much Love is willing to piss all over her late husband'''s legacy. Words fail me. If you have some you'''d like to share, leave some comments below.

Yeah, not a shock to anyone I would assume. I'm not even sure Love understands "respect" - for anyone or for herself for that matter - much less "tasteful". I think "she'''s a lying, money-grubbing jezebel" is just a nice way of saying "****" by the way (just to save you some typing next time).

Why Courtney Sucks In '96

I have never been so saddened and offended by a television commercial. I saw the video game clips. I heard the song. And I literaly thought that the feed had somehow been mixed up. They say that Kurt was ahead of his time, and i agree. I now also think he may have had prophetic visions. Well, at least one. In which he saw the future, the commercial in question, and...well, I guess we all know what happened next. The scary thing is that CUNTny Love has only sold 25% of the rights to the catalog away so far. But give her time. I can hear/see it now. Smells Like Teen Spirit used to launch Colgate's new scent of (of course) Teen Spirit. It's called "Unforgivably Inappropriate". I can only hope that in a sudden moment of clarity (the first of her life) all of what she has done comes rushing back to her like a conscience psunami. And I hope she has access to a shotgun. -Fred

i think a little perspective is in order when we're saying someone should blow their head off for selling music for a video game commercial.

Honestly, I don't mind hearing the song on TV only because television and radio today is plagued by talentless emo and 21st century hip hop like 50 cent. I can honestly say that I would take any of the music in the last 100 years over the crap of the last 7.I agree with what most of you have said about putting the song in a cheesy video game commercial to sell baseball video games, and that fing sucks.....The only thing is, how else are we going to get good music on tv? MTV does not play any, and nobody else does. I actually jumped for joy when heard breed playing, but then quickly became pissed when I realized it was for some cheesy baseball game..This is Courtney's revenge on Kurt. She will now rape his music as much as she possibly can. Delaying the box set, robbing Nirvana's rights from Ghrol and Novoselic, and selling their songs to some corporate horse crap are all examples of this in action....

i would like to reiterate that baseball is awesome.

Do you want to play a video game that has tracks from Tony Orlando and Dawn? What's the problem with a little commerce? It's not like Kurt Cobain refused to cash his checks.
