Nintendo takes on Rock Band with not 5 but 60 instruments in Wii Music

At this week’s E3. Nintendo unveiled a game that they hope will take on the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises: Wii Music. Like the popular Wii Sports game, Wii Music will allow players to use the controller like it’s a real instrument, of which they’ll have 60 to choose from, including the drums, the guitar, and the sitar.

The game promises players the opportunity to make their own music, which varies greatly from other band games that require you to play pre-arranged songs. However, the game could lose some of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero’s fanbase if it requires players to actually learn musical notes. There’s no word on whether or not the game will feature playable music, or have an online music store. [Hypebot
