You do this video a disservice with your lazy and uninspired review. Taken in the broader context of the Year Zero experience being built, I think it fits in well. You will be hard-pressed to find people who agree with your assessment when viewing this video within its proper context. |

Who cares about the song. What about the video? |

It begins....Coincidentally, MattE, you might want to take a peek around the internet before making such claims. |

I made a lazy, broad claim that nobody would assess this video as a lazy effort given the context into which it fits and the pieces to the Year Zero experience that it has revealed. I want to know why you label it as B-A-D. I have no problem with that, but I'd like more rationale than it'''s grainy, black-and-white, and Orwellian. That's sort of the picture of the world that's emerging from the Year Zero-related material anyway, isn't it? |

Granted, the video fits into the whole theme of Year Zero, but that doesn't mean it's an inspired effort. I think it goes without saying that Reznor could have come up with something a little less cliché than some security cameras spying on people and secret police coming to take transgressors away to convey his message. If not, he could have at least made the concept for the video a little more engaging. It's dull, plain and simple. There's nothing original to it, it's just rehashing themes of Orwellian fear and paranoia that have been done to death by pop culture for decades now. |

The worst part is that he has musicians play in the video music that was *obviously* created with a computer. |

Musicians that will *obviously* perform this live on the Year Zero tour. I'l let you know when I watch them on Monday. As the NIN 'Live' band are now pretty much established as NIN themselves. |

Lazy? So you think that those are real people and the crew just went to their living rooms and filmed them. No, their actors and they are in a location. That's not their furniture, they arent' wearing their own clothes. Someone came up with a concept for the video they cast actors, hired a crew. Then every one goes to a location and they stay there for hours until they finish. Even when the concept is simple to execute, multiple vignettes and 30 actor is still laborious. You should try it sometime, |

i agree. this video is lame. so is NIN. ever since fragile came out trent has just been taking our money. the context of this album is "im rich and want more". little else. i refuse to buy or listen to NIN anymore because of albums like fragile and with teeth. fragile was acceptable, but evertything after that just disapoints me. and you little EMO kids need to stop advertising for this crap for him. trent wouldnt make so much garbage if little kids wouldnt buy it in droves. i mean for real- the song is even retarded. WTF TRENT? what about your fans from the 90's? are we garbage now? |

it is not difficult to make that video-case in point- jingle all the way. thats a very uninspired and lazy production that a LOT of people spent a LOT of time on- so lets not debate the validity of other people being employed by said project- because the video is still lame. and the Zero Year concept is equally lame. see, with teeth got such bad reviews by the old fans (and much more hardcore fans too, i might add) that trent figured out that having nothing new to say to us was a BAD thing. so he creates this little orwellian story for us to google and waste our time on therefore making us feel integral to his little album that SUCKS! it doesnt change the fact the he put NO effort into with teeth- i believe he said it took less than 6 months to record AND compose the entire album. Why should year zero be any different? lets face it fellow NIN fans (and not you noobs that think with teeth and fragile are the best NIN albums)- trent has nothing left for us to hear. and if he does, he cares more about the faggot faces of a new generation of gender confused teens than he does about the generation of hatred filled adults he helped to create.fin. |

Some you people would complain about free cocaine |
| onkodjinn |
i wouldnt complain about free cocaine because i wouldnt want it, free or not. if i did i might make a worthless album like this. |
