Nike has always been a cool brand, but with their recent releases in conjunction with LCD Soundsystem and A-Trak, they've been zeroing in on the hipster demographic. Their recent pairing with Japanese noise rockers, Boredoms, continues the trend.
The corporate giants will host an event on each coast, one in Los Angeles and one in Brooklyn, where the Boredoms and eighty-eight drummers will perform their eighty-eight minute track at precisely 8:08 PM in a proclaimed "sweat-shop free" environment.
The Boredoms have done this before with seventy-seven drummers on July 7, 2007, culminating with the sun setting over the seventy-seventh drummer in Brooklyn, and 4000 people lined up for that, so snag one of the free tickets while you still can.
Dates:
August 8, Los Angeles- La Brea Tar Pits 8:08PM
August 8, Brooklyn - Williamsburg Waterfront 8:08PM
Did anyone get to go to this last year? How was it?
Harvey
The La Brea Tar Pits in LA in Aug? Sounds like fun. And where is there going to be enough room on the Williamsburg waterfront for all these peeps?
God, I'm so negative.
Ummm...how are the Boredoms going to be able to be at both events on the same day with only the time difference separating them in time? Is half the band presiding over one and half the other?
They're not - Gang Gang Dance is doing the Williamsburg one conducted on behalf of the Boredoms
Gotcha. I've got my ticket for the LA version!
WHere can i get my free tickets??!!
