Nicole Kidman’s vocal talents have snagged her a role in Moulin Rouge! and a surprise #1 single in the UK. Okay, so the latter was a duet with Robbie Williams (on Nancy and Frank Sinatra’s “Somethin’ Stupid”) back when the Brits thought Robbie could do no wrong. And the thought that Kidman might practice her singing with husband Keith Urban isn’t exactly appealing. But reports that the Aussie actress is planning on flexing her golden tonsils around a few Dusty Springfield numbers for an upcoming biopic is a much more appetizing proposition. According to Variety, Kidman has signed up for the as-yet untitled project, which will be scripted by novelist and screenwriter Michael Cunningham. How will the film tackle Dusty’s oft-discussed sexuality? And who will play the Pet Shop Boys, whom she collaborated with late in her career? These questions remain unanswered for now, but the filmmakers better be quick, as the Variety article points out that a rival Dusty biopic starring Kristen Chenoweth is also currently under consideration.

she scares the crap out of me.
