New York Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame to honor city's rock icons

Cleveland may still rock, but in terms of cities who helped spearhead American rock 'n' roll, few have done as much as New York City. That's why the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame will be opening a branch in NYC, which will feature a phone booth from CBGB, and Bruce Springsteen's first car.

Says Mayor Bloomberg, "There really isn't a more fitting spot for this museum than New York, the home town of Hall of Famers like the Velvet Underground, Paul Simon, and Blondie." Wow, Bloomberg went with VU but not the Ramones? Someone must really hate Queens.

The museum will be opening in SoHo in November.
