New year brings new Trans Am album

My, how the winds of change blow fast. Trans Am's last album, Liberation, was a bleak look at life in the band's hometown of D.C. under Premiere George Walter Bush. But now that he's a lame duck and his party is a minority in the capitol, Trans Am are ready for a Sex Change. That's the name of their next record, dropping February 20 of next year. The album was recorded in Auckland, New Zealand with gear provided by Chris Knox, and in New York City at Oneida's home studio. The results are what their label Thrill Jockey is calling "the most joyous and upbeat rock album of Trans Am's chronicle."
