New Watson Twins Album Due Out February, Talking To You, Talking to Me

Come Feb. 9, the California-based indie-folk sister act The Watson Twins will release a new album, Talking to You, Talking to Me, on Vanguard Records. The release is the follow-up to their 2008 Vanguard CD, Fire Songs, which, in turn, came on the heels of their independently released EP and collaboration with Jenny Lewis, Rabbit Fur Coat.

The new release is said to contain 12 songs and is being produced by Russell Pollard and J. Soda of Everest. It will also feature some new sonic directions only hinted at in past efforts. Specifically, the group will move into the folk-soul area pioneered by Carole King, but do it with a pop flair associated with Feist. Their signature harmonies will still be the main show, however.

As of tomorrow, Oct. 28, the group will start a month-long cross country tour that begins in Los Angeles and wraps in Boston. Click here for dates.
